{"id":213,"date":"2014-12-03T18:00:13","date_gmt":"2014-12-03T18:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/perugiaagriturismo.it\/en\/?page_id=213"},"modified":"2014-12-03T18:00:13","modified_gmt":"2014-12-03T18:00:13","slug":"festival-2-worlds-spoleto-festival","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/perugiaagriturismo.it\/en\/festival-2-worlds-spoleto-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"FESTIVAL OF 2 WORLDS, SPOLETO FESTIVAL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><strong>Festival of Two Worlds in Spoleto<\/strong><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>(PG), also called the<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><strong>Spoleto Festival<\/strong><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>or<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><strong>Spoleto Festival dei 2Mondi<\/strong><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>, is one of the oldest and most important festivals in Umbria, as well as an event of worldwide and for a while the only of its kind in Italy .<\/p>\n<p>The Spoleto Festival<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><strong>was born<\/strong><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>in<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><strong>1958<\/strong><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>on the initiative of the master composer<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><strong>Gian Carlo Menotti<\/strong><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>and its vision: to unite two cultures and two worlds (hence the name) art very different, the European and the American, dedicated to art in all its form and expression.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>And set up an event that was as international as possible.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perugiaagriturismo.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/festival-spoleto.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-411 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/perugiaagriturismo.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/festival-spoleto.jpg\" alt=\"festival-spoleto\" width=\"632\" height=\"421\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;duality&#8221; was always present in the billboard.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>Beside shows pioneering exclusive, unusual and original works are staged and respectful work of the classical tradition.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nIn the<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><strong>17 days<\/strong><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>of the festival, which<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><strong>begins<\/strong><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>usually in &#8216;<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><strong>last Friday in June<\/strong><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>, alternate<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><em>ballet, opera, painting, conferences, concerts , theater, conferences, church music, readings, puppet shows and contemporary art<\/em><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>At the Festival of 2 Worlds, between the Teatro Nuovo, the Teatro Caio Melisso, the Roman Theatre, the Theatre of the six, the monumental complex of St. Nicholas, the Cortile della Rocca Albornoz, the Church of St. Euphemia, the auditorium of the Star and Piazza del Duomo (also home to the traditional Final concert), has featured some of the greatest artists of the &#8216;900 as<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><em>Rudolf Nureyev, Carla Fracci, Luciano Pavarotti<\/em><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>and<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><em>Ken Russell<\/em><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>Or even the<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><em>Teodelapio<\/em><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>of<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><em>Alexander Calder<\/em><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>, the first monumental sculpture in the world that still is located in Spoleto, in the exact same spot where the artist left her as a gift in<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><em>1962<\/em><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>, opposite the railway station.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0Festival of Two Worlds in Spoleto\u00a0(PG), also called the\u00a0Spoleto Festival\u00a0or\u00a0Spoleto Festival dei 2Mondi\u00a0, is one of the oldest and most important festivals in Umbria, as well as an event of worldwide and for a while the only of its kind in Italy .
